The Mayrhofer family is celebrating Vogue Studio's 54th year in business in the Nelson area. Helmuth and Alice Mayrhofer purchased the established business in 1954. Vogue Studio's started as a photographic lab processing and printing film. Shortly thereafter it expanded in to a professional portrait studio. Helmuth and Alice won many awards among their peers over the years as true professionals in the field. Helmuth with his portraiture and Alice with her retouching and hand colouring. In 1967 Vogue Studio's became the first colour printing facility between Calgary and Vancouver, and the business continued to grow from there. They soon expanded into camera sales and became the first full service photographic facility in the interior of the province.
In the early 1980's Vogue Studio became the first to offer slide film processing with a dip and dunk processor. The next first was to offer APS film processing and index prints. Once more, Vogue Studio's is the first to offer full digital services including printing, scanning, restoration, and a world class online ordering system so that you can order photographic prints from the comfort of your home.
Vogue Studio's has now been passed down to the next generation of Mayrhofer's and Michael and Gabriele are now the driving force in the company along with support from Gregory Mayrhofer
